The UK education and training capability is amongst the best in the world.

The UK is globally recognised as a leading centre for education and training for the marine sector, with internationally-recognised education providers in a number of universities and colleges offering a wide choice of courses and qualifications.  Underpinned by a strong, innovative and highly-regarded research capability in marine engineering and naval architecture, the specialist marine departments in a number of universities offer a wide range of relevant teaching both to UK students and students from overseas.  A number of its further education colleges also provide relevant hands-on teaching that is relevant to many aspects of the marine sector, producing the high quality trade and craft skills that companies in the sector are looking for, both in the UK and internationally.

UK-developed degree and college qualifications are internationally-recognised.  In addition to courses that are delivered in the UK, some universities and colleges operate overseas campuses, or have in place training agreements with other countries, ensuring that high quality qualifications are delivered to the customer in a consistently and convenient way.
